Dear Burgess Locke McCants Family,

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience during the pandemic. What a time we’ve been through! I hope this letter reaches you in good spirits, it is sent with a lot of love. I’m pleased to announce the upcoming reunion has been scheduled to be June 23th-26th, 2022. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a little bump in our plans, but I know you all are ready to get back together with the family!

The reunion will still be hosted in Jacksonville, Florida, so get ready to pack your sunscreen and flip flops! The hotel honored our prior agreement from the last planned reunion, so we are back in action. Prepare to have a relaxing and fun weekend on the south bank of the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville at the DoubleTree Jacksonville-Riverfront Hotel.

We need your help, support, prayers and diligent cooperation to make this an excellent event so that we can continue to have even better reunion events in the future, so please spread the word about the reunion so that we can have a great turn out! We hope you are excited about the reunion details below and will help us out by reserving your spot early. We are diligently planning to make your visit to Jacksonville an unforgettable one.

Thursday, June 23rd:

Meet and Greet (Breezer's Pool Side Deck), 6 p.m.

Friday, June 24th:

Welcome Reception (2nd Floor Osceola Room) 3-5 p.m. *Snack Provided
[Picnic at Club House 5pm-until TBD]


Saturday, June 25th:

9:30/ 11:30 AM a.m. Family Picture on Southbank Riverwalk
*Zoo Trip 9AM-12PM
*St. Johns River Taxi Cruise, 12-2 p.m. 
On Your Own, 2-6p.m.
Family Portraits 6-7 p.m.
Banquet "BLM Black and Gold Award Ceremony", 7 p.m.

Hotel Information

Room Block Name: "Burgess, Locke, McCants”

Room Rate: $112 dollars + tax for a city facing double/king bed and $132 dollars + tax for a Riverfront double/king room.

The preferred room is the Riverfront Jr. Suite at a rate of $152.00 + tax which includes a King bed, pullout, a microwave and mini-fridge. This is the only room that includes a microwave and mini-fridge.

All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers.

Parking: $6 per day. The entry gate will let you IN/OUT with your room key. You will not have to repay every time you leave the parking lot.

Please note: On May 15th the hotel will release the room block so PLEASE don't wait to make your reservations! You will have the ability to cancel your reservations up to 2 days prior to our event. You will also have the option of checking in 3 days prior or post our reunion dates at that same rate. The hotel has set up a web link for your convenience to assist with payment options.

The Burgess, Locke, McCants history book is available for purchase. The cost is $50 if you will be coming to the reunion, if not it will be $55 to mail it to you. Written by Melvina Ezell, our family historian has a full family tree of our pass lineage, and our beautiful family tree.
